Graphic Design Cohort

(Powered by New Earth Digital)

Our Graphic Design Cohort is designed for emerging creatives ready to build visual communication skills, strengthen their portfolios, and gain industry experience in branding, digital marketing, and content creation.

What You’ll Learn:

  1. Canva & Adobe Suite fundamentals
  2. Typography, color theory, and composition
  3. Brand identity, logo design, and layout
  4. Social media and marketing design
  5. Real-world client design projects

Program Format:

  1. Duration: 6–8 weeks
  2. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, hybrid format
  3. Commitment: 4-hour sessions per day

Outcomes:

  1. Participants graduate with a polished design portfolio.
  2. Top students may be invited to become New Earth Digital Fellows, where they’ll gain real-world experience working with live clients on branding, web, and marketing projects through our in-house creative agency, New Earth Digital.

Music Production Cohort

(Earn While You Learn)

Our Earn While You Learn pathway trains youth for creative media and audio careers through hands-on music production and audio engineering experience.

Program Highlights:

  1. Training in music production and audio engineering
  2. Industry-standard tools and software (Ableton Live, Pro Tools, etc.)
  3. Career support and portfolio development
  4. Studio-based hybrid learning

What You’ll Learn:

  1. Music Production with Ableton Live
  2. Audio Engineering Fundamentals
  3. Sound for Film & Television
  4. Podcasting Masterclass
  5. Intro to Foley (Sound Effects)

Program Details:

  1. Duration: 10 weeks (Oct 27 – Jan 22)
  2. Schedule: Mon–Thurs evenings, 16 hrs/week
  3. Location: 12100 W. Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066
  4. Eligibility:
  5. LA County residents (18+)
  6. Underemployed or minimum-wage workers
  7. Impacted by COVID-19

Level Up Your Own Way
This program aims to empower young individuals by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support to excel in their chosen career paths. By participating in Level Up Your Own Way, youth can explore different career options, develop essential skills, pursue certifications and diplomas, receive job placement assistance, and access wrap-around care management and supportive services.

 This stunning  poetry anthology is written by New Earth youth from 8 sites across LA County. New Earth’s F.L.O.W. program is taught behind the walls, in the classrooms, and now on Zoom. F.L.O.W youth share their words and their worlds while incarcerated at Camp Kirby, Central Juvenile Hall, Barry J Nidorf Juvenile Hall, Campus Kilpatrick, and enrolled at Zane Grey High School or the New Earth Arts & Leadership Center.
